About the departement of South Asian & Himalayan StudiesThe department of South Asian & Himalayan Studies at inalco in Paris is one of the oldest and most important departments of Indian studies in Europe and attracts students not only from all over France but from other European countries as well. Ten languages are taught in the department : Bengali, Hindi, Nepali, Pashto, Romani, Sinhala, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan, Urdu.
About the hindi facultyAt present, the Hindi teaching faculty is comprised of four permanent members (Marguerite Gricourt, Laurent Maheux, Harit Joshi, and Ghanshyam Sharma), three temporary teachers as well as an Emeritus Professor, Annie Montaut.
